From the moment we poked our heads through the front door, we knew we were in a very special place where extraordinary instruction, attention to detail, and high energy rule! We drive three hours round-trip each week to refine our dancing skills and learn new ones. The stress from daily business life dissipates into thin air and the music engulfs us as we concentrate on the day’s lesson. We leave sweating and smiling and looking forward to the next lesson. Even at our modest level of dancing we get compliments and sometimes even applause.

Hi, my name is Gabi, and I go to ballroom dancing lessons. When you go to ballroom dancing lessons it is cool there because when you dance it helps your posture, and also it’s a really fun experience. You can dance the Cha-Cha, Waltz, Samba, Jive, and many more! It’s really fun to participate in showcases because you can show off what steps you’ve learned so far. Since I was about seven, I’ve been dancing ballroom dances, and now I’m nine years old now, so I’ve been dancing for almost two years now! I’ve had a really fun experience dancing at Elite Ballroom and I hope you will have a fun experience too!

I look forward to dance competitions as a way to focus on improving my dancing. For the past several years I’ve taken lessons & competed in Standard & Latin. It’s been a great experience. I’ve competed successfully, had fun, and improved flexibility and endurance. I’m very grateful DanceRise is in our area.

DanceRise teachers have instructed and supported me from an unskilled, unaware and awkward dancer to a more skilled, detailed and presentable person of dance. My thanks and appreciation go to them for this opportunity and accomplishment. I can say truly “I could not have done it without them.” I could accomplish the challenge in dance but I didn’t and then did master the challenge with instructions and support in the dance performance.

Delia and I have been taking dance lessons for over three years now. Seems like yesterday! During our first lesson it was clear that both were not only well trained and accomplished dancers, but more important to me, they simply loved to dance. I knew they would be committed to making their students the best possible. Now I know I was correct. Their unique way of teaching in a relaxed, non-threatening environment just makes me want to dance, dance, dance. I am always on a natural high in their presence. WE HAVE FUN!!

When Wyman retired we chose ballroom dance lessons as a sport we begin learning together. We were introduced to a couple of international ballroom dance champions. All the teachers are quality trained and very friendly. As a bonus DanceRise conducted classes where we made many new friends, were exposed to styling, various dance steps, men’s leading and women’s following techniques. To Seniors – start dancing! It’s fun, good exercise, and it increases brain power. Try it. You’ll enjoy it.

For much of my life I was an athlete, which gave me both physical strength and an understanding of body mechanics. After my shoulder began telling me that a professional career wasn’t in the cards, I turned to my “other” first love …music. Spending countless hours in dive bars and at chili cook-offs and such, playing music for other people to dance to, I always thought that theoretically at least, I’d be able to dance. So, when my then-fiancé expressed an interest in ballroom dancing, I did my homework. I mention this because I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been asked if I started dancing just to meet women; I didn’t. Well, the fiancé is now out of the picture, and after the standard mourning period I decided to go back to dancing. Dancing almost became like a home-away-from-home for me.
